Will My Child Do Well in Montessori?

Studies have shown that students in a Montessori school are at higher academic level than their peers at a traditional school. Montessori Method of education helps to children to grow the urge to learn on their own. It helps the children through the education process which emphasize them to naturally unfold the way to development. It is a very effective way of educating children through a humanistic and child centered method. It provides an environment to the children where the psychological and the physical needs of the children get fulfilled. The preparation of the teacher gives a proper success to the proper education for the infants. Montessori teacher training guides the teachers to direct a child on the path of self discovery and self construction.

Suggestions for determining that the Montessori teaching is best for the child:

•    Generally children at Montessori schools guide their own learning so a good Montessori school will give the opportunity to the children to respect each other and their environment. The teachers also need to encourage the children to be as independent as possible. Parents and teachers also need to take care that the children must choose different type of activities to learn more.
•    Some of the children are not self motivated so for them it will be a problem to flourish in the free flowing educational environment. To take care of these Montessori teachers need to play a very important role in motivating the children towards the activities.
•    The parents need to choose the Montessori schools very carefully as the important part of Montessori method is teaching. So the schools must have well trained Montessori teacher who can guide the children in the proper path.
•    The parents also need to understand how long the child needs to study under Montessori training. Montessori teachers should help the children in the transition period form play school to public school.

It is very important for the parents to know their child and the environment that will suit them. Deciding on Montessori has a lot to do with the child as well as the specific school that the child will attend. Each Montessori school interprets the Montessori model of learning in its own way, and each Montessori classroom can differ, based on the makeup of the students, the teachers' own training, experience and personality, and the resources they use to implement the curriculum.
